Black Hills Vision Wins Spirit of 2010 Award

Black Hills Vision is the first recipient of the SPIRIT of 2010: Economic Development Award presented by South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds. 

When Governor Rounds made the presentation in April, 2006 he began by saying the award was presented to a group of South Dakotansmaking the 2010 Initiative a reality by setting territory and turf aside to maximize regional strengths. He went on to tell the audience that Black Hills Vision, consisting of more than 110 contributors is making an impact on South Dakota by diversifying the Black Hills economy and developing creative strategies for a high-tech, vibrant economic future.

Just a few short years ago, Black Hills Vision was an idea and many individuals and organizations throughout the region and state worked hard to make it reality.  Since its inception, hundreds of people have invested thousands of hours working together to accomplish one common goal: "To invest in the development of job creation and an opportunity environment for the Black HillsRegion."

During the presentation the Governor said, “Working together, the Black Hills is quickly becoming a haven for entrepreneurs and young people who see a bright future in South Dakota.”
